MarktHaus in Mannheim is a goodwill store, secondhand and new items are sold with very reasonable prices. The staff are unconventional and friendly, the environment is a mixture of supermarket and yard sale. Many different goods are on offer, from pianos to thimbles. You´ll find nice prices on both new and second-hand items. There´s good quality German furniture – cupboards, schranks, tables, chairs, couches, divans and dressingtables. Lovely old china, glasses, flatware and old silver cuttlery is always available. You can often find rustic-style pottery, jugs and vases and traditional German souveniers. Used electrical equipment and CDs are always a bargain. Books – many bright photocraphical books - are sold by weight: 100 g cost only 30 Euro-cents. Clothing, curtains and food complete the selection. Goods change frequently and there are many surprises. Most of the food and the clothing has been produced under ecological conditions.

It´s not only fun to shop at MarktHaus – your´re also contributing for a good cause. Most of the staff are physically handicapped.

Markthaus also welcomes contibutions and donations: for instance good qualitiy clothing or household equipment.

You can find Markthaus in the Mannheim suburbs of Neckarau in the commercial area, (Industriegebiet) Flosswörthstrasse 3-9 where it crosses Voltastrasse, near Mc-Donalds. There´s a large free parking area in the yard. Markthaus is open Monday through Fridays from 10:30 until 19:00 hrs, Saturdays from 9:30 until 16:00 hrs.
